This work was intially created as a plein air painting of the River Allen in Wimborne Dorset and then taken back to my studio and worked on further for a number of weeks.

My works are both literal and part memory part feeling. Living on the Isle of Purbeck I am constantly walking around the heathlands and nature reserves. I take pictures, sketches and note the sensations that this beautiful and magical place creates in and for me. In some way I am trying to pass this experience on to the viewer - to see and feel it through my eyes.
